These Azeroth Survivors builds are spell and passive setups for all nine classes, read from the game's own numbers. You cannot choose every card you want, because level-ups deal three at random, so a build here is a list of what to take when it is offered. The picks are our estimate and not play-tested; for the class order itself see the tier list.
How Azeroth Survivors builds work
A run holds up to six spells and up to six passives. Every spell can reach rank 8 and every passive rank 5. Each rank of a spell does three things at once:
- Damage rises by 30 percent of the base value per rank.
- The cooldown is multiplied by 0.93 per rank, so a spell fires about 7 percent more often each rank.
- Ranks 3, 5 and 7 each add one more target to spells that pick their targets, and every rank adds 8 percent radius and 10 percent duration.
So a spell at rank 5 deals 2.2 times its rank 1 damage, fires about a third more often and, if it picks its targets, hits two more. The passives and upgrades guide explains how the three cards are drawn and which colours mean what.
Best spells for each Azeroth Survivors class
This table lists each class's starting spell and the four strongest other spells by crowd damage, the same figure the tier list uses. Spells that heal, shield or place totems have no such figure and are listed separately.
| Class | Start with | Take next, strongest first | Defence and utility |
|---|---|---|---|
| Warlock | Shadow Bolt | Curse of Agony, Corruption, Hellfire, Rain of Fire | None |
| Warrior | Cleave | Sweeping Strikes, Execute, Whirlwind, Heroic Strike | Retaliation |
| Mage | Frostbolt | Flamestrike, Blizzard, Cone of Cold, Fireball | None |
| Druid | Wrath | Insect Swarm, Hurricane, Moonfire, Starfire | Thorns, Rejuvenation |
| Paladin | Hammer of Wrath | Consecration, Holy Wrath, Judgement, Holy Shock | Divine Shield |
| Priest | Smite | Shadow Word: Pain, Holy Nova, Mind Blast, Holy Fire | Power Word: Shield |
| Rogue | Sinister Strike | Rupture, Blade Flurry, Eviscerate, Gouge | None |
| Hunter | Arcane Shot | Volley, Multi Shot, Aimed Shot, Explosive Trap | None |

Every number behind the table is on the spells page, with the cooldown, damage, targets and radius of all 73 spells.
Which passives to take
Passives are the cards that apply to every class. With six slots and ten passives you will not take them all.
- Blessing of Might adds 10 percent damage per rank to everything, so it helps every build; at rank 5 it is 50 percent.
- Power Word: Fortitude adds 20 percent maximum health per rank. It is the passive that adds buffer on the classes that start at 120 health.
- Arcane Intellect speeds recharge by 8 percent per rank, capped at 65 percent in total.
- Amplify Magic grows areas by 10 percent per rank, which matters for ground and pulse spells such as Flamestrike, Consecration and Volley.
- Blessing of Wisdom adds 8 percent experience per rank. It pays off early, when each level comes quickly.
Aspect of the Pack, Renew, Detect Lesser Invisibility, Mark of the Wild and Blessing of Kings fill the remaining slots; all ten are listed in the passives and upgrades guide.
Build ideas by play style
Crowd burner
Stack damage-over-time spells so that every enemy near you burns at once. Warlock (Curse of Agony, Corruption), Druid (Insect Swarm) and Priest (Shadow Word: Pain) each have one strong spell of this kind. Add Blessing of Might and a health passive.
Close-range bruiser
Warrior works best in the middle of the crowd, with Sweeping Strikes and Cleave hitting everything near you, and the 160 starting health to survive there. Paladin pairs Consecration with Divine Shield for the same plan.
Area caster
Mage leans on ground and cone spells: Flamestrike, Blizzard and Cone of Cold. Amplify Magic and Arcane Intellect both improve this kind of build, and Blink gets you out when the crowd closes.
Azeroth Survivors builds FAQ
How many spells can I hold in Azeroth Survivors?
Six spells and six passives. Each spell can be upgraded to rank 8 and each passive to rank 5.
What is the best build in Azeroth Survivors?
The Warlock damage-over-time build is the strongest by the game's numbers: Curse of Agony and Corruption hit several enemies at once. It is an estimate and not play-tested, and a lower-health class asks you to avoid more hits.
Is it better to upgrade a spell or take a new one?
Early on, a new spell adds a new source of damage. After that, ranks are strong because each one adds 30 percent damage and a faster cooldown, and ranks 3, 5 and 7 add a target to spells that pick targets.
Can I choose which cards I get?
No. The game deals three cards drawn at random from your class's pool and the passives. Upgrades for spells you already own come up more often than new passives.
