Azeroth Survivors passives and upgrades are what you collect between boss fights: every time you level up the game stops and deals three cards, and each one is a new spell, a rank for a spell you own, or a passive. This guide lists all 10 passives, explains how the three cards are drawn and what the card colours mean, and gives the experience curve. Class-specific advice is in the builds guide.
All Azeroth Survivors passives
A run can hold six passives, and each can be raised to rank 5. Their effect is the same for every class, while starting health and speed differ between the nine classes.
| Passive | Effect per rank | At rank 5 |
|---|---|---|
| Blessing of Might | Increases all damage you deal by 10% per rank. | +50% |
| Power Word: Fortitude | Increases your maximum health by 20% per rank. | +100% |
| Aspect of the Pack | Increases your movement speed by 10% per rank. | +50% |
| Renew | Restores 0.5 health every second per rank. | 2.5 health per second |
| Arcane Intellect | Your abilities recharge 8% faster per rank; the total is capped at 65%. | 40% faster (total capped at 65%) |
| Amplify Magic | Increases the size of your areas of effect by 10% per rank. | +50% |
| Detect Lesser Invisibility | Increases your pickup range by 40% per rank. | +200% |
| Blessing of Wisdom | Increases the experience you gain by 8% per rank. | +40% |
| Mark of the Wild | Reduces the damage of every hit you take by 1 per rank. | 5 damage off every hit |
| Blessing of Kings | Increases your chance to critically strike for double damage by 5% per rank. | +25% |
Mark of the Wild takes 1 off every hit, so it is worth most against many small hits. Blessing of Kings raises your crit chance, and a crit deals double damage. The base crit chance is 5 percent.
How Azeroth Survivors level-up cards are drawn
The game builds a pool of every possible card and deals three of them without repeats. Each type has a weight, and heavier cards are dealt more often:
- A rank for a spell you already own: weight 1.2 each, until the spell reaches rank 8.
- A new spell from your class's pool: weight 1.0 each, while you hold fewer than six.
- A rank for a passive you own: weight 0.8 each, until rank 5.
- A new passive: weight 0.5 each, while you hold fewer than six.
If the pool runs empty, the game offers a heal to full health instead. Once a spell or passive is capped, it leaves the pool, so the cards you want become more likely as the rest are maxed. For the effect of this on your choice, see the best class guide.
Azeroth Survivors card colours and rarity
Card colours use World of Warcraft's item-quality colours and show how strong the pick is. Each card also lists exactly what changes, for example damage from 20 to 26.
- New spell: the strongest third of your class's spells by power is Epic and the weakest third is Uncommon. The rest, and the defensive spells that have no power figure, are Rare.
- Spell rank: Uncommon for a plain rank, Epic when rank 3, 5 or 7 adds a target to a spell that picks targets, and Legendary for the top rank, 8.
- New passive: Uncommon.
- Passive rank: Common for rank 2, Uncommon for rank 3, Rare for rank 4 and Epic for rank 5.
- Heal: Common.
Azeroth Survivors spell rank scaling
Every rank of a spell gives 30 percent more of its base damage, cuts the cooldown to 93 percent of the previous value, and adds 8 percent radius and 10 percent duration. Ranks 3, 5 and 7 add one target each to spells that pick their targets. The spells page lists the rank 1 values for every spell.
The Azeroth Survivors experience curve
Experience gems drop from every kill and fly to you when you are near. The experience needed to reach the next level is 5 plus 10 for each level below 20, then 195 plus 13 per level from level 20, and 455 plus 16 per level from level 40.
| Level | 1 | 5 | 10 | 15 | 20 | 30 | 40 |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| XP to next level | 5 | 45 | 95 | 145 | 195 | 325 | 455 |
The game also multiplies the experience each gem grants, and Blessing of Wisdom raises it further by 8 percent per rank. The bosses and run clock guide shows how the 15 minutes pace those levels.
